Researcher – Desk Studies
We are looking for a person to help our research team to compile desk studies for sites around the UK. We collate information from our own database, internet, libraries and record offices around the UK to provide comprehensive accounts of a site’s history, mainly focusing on military sites. You will be provided with appropriate training, experience in conducting searches of records for historical facts is essential and some experience of report writing would be an advantage. There are deadlines to keep to and you will work as part of a team based at our Long Hanborough office but occasionally you may be asked to visit libraries or record offices anywhere in the UK. A driving licence is essential.
Visual Data Processor
A 6 month contract initially.
Salary, £ 18,000 per annum pro rata
Zetica’s Rail department is expanding and we are looking to recruit more Visual Data Processors. Zetica scan the railway environment to ascertain the stability of track. The processing that is required involves looking at moving images and determining where the base of the ballast is. The work is interesting and very visual but monotonous. This work would not suit someone with impaired eyesight. Being at ease working at a computer for 8 hours a day is important.
Zetica will provide training on the job. An interest in science, computer games, and geography, geology and physics would help you come to grips with this work. The company will provide further training. We are looking for a someone who takes personal pride in finishing a job, someone who is determined to understand the client’s needs. A person who has natural focus and diligence would take this work on with ease.
The entire team needs to work to deadlines so, although solitary in your computer work, you will be part of a team.
As this could be a short term contract, this position would suit a local person.
Geophysical Field Technician – Utility Surveys
We require a person experienced in utility services surveys with a working knowledge of a range of techniques to include GPR and electromagnetics. They will need to be able to post-process data, produce and deliver drawings in CAD. Knowledge of other geophysical techniques and topographic surveying also a benefit, although training on the wide range of services we offer will also be provided. We are looking for an enthusiastic team worker who is self motivated and has excellent communication skills. You will need to have an eye for detail and take serious pride in your work. You will need to be willing to travel throughout the UK and abroad and work the occasional weekend.
