Utility Services Detection & Mapping

Zetica Ltd is looking for an experienced utility services detection and mapping specialists to join our expanding team. Based at our Oxfordshire offices, you will join a company that has a reputation for providing industry leading surveys.

You will have access to the highest specification equipment, and will be given the time to ensure surveys are of the highest quality.

We routinely operate 3D Radar arrays, vehicle based platforms and utilise a wide range of other techniques (not offered by other utility services detection companies), alongside more routine techniques such as RFL.

We are involved in some of the largest and most prestigious projects currently in the UK and need to expand our teams to meet the increasing demands on our services.

We are looking for a person with drive and self-motivation to be an integral part of the team. We can alos facilitate any longer term ambitions to take a lead and drive the technology, processes and quality in this sector of Zetica's business.

We would expect you to have routinely used techniques such as radio-frequency-location, sonding and ground penetrating radar, alongside visual identification of utility service types and features. You will also have AutoCAD or similar drawing skills and be familiar with industry drawing standards.

You will have a strong support team working with you, with decades of experience and relevant qualifications.

You will be based at our Oxfordshire office and will be dealing with customers, liaising with colleagues and the public.

Whilst we are the largest independent company of its type, we have a friendly supportive working environment, with considerate management, and recognition of staff who may have to work long hours onsite or to get a difficult project across the line.

You must have a valid driver's license.

Salary dependent on experience.

Experienced Geophysicist

Zetica Ltd is looking for an experienced Geophysicist to work within our busy and successful engineering and environmental geophysics team.

Based at our Oxfordshire offices, you will need relevant experience in near-surface geophysics, ideally both site work and back-office data processing and interpretation.

You will have a working knowledge of a wide range of typical geophysical methods for the assessment and mapping of ground conditions, hazards, utility services and other shallow buried features typically related to construction or infrastructure projects.

You will have a relevant degree and ideally experience with Autocad and Geosoft Oasis Montaj. Excellent writing skills are vital to this position.

Dealing with clients, you will need to be focused on completing projects to time and budget. Most of your work will be UK based, but there will be opportunities to travel overseas for specific projects.

Salary is dependent on experience. 25 days holiday (rising to a maximum of 30) plus bank holidays, Company Health Cash Plan Scheme, pension & other benefits.

Visual Data Processor (temporary position)

Zetica’s Rail department invites speculative applications for Visual Data Processors.  Zetica undertakes surveys within the railway environment to ascertain the condition of the track.  The visual data processor (VDP) role involves interpreting a grey scale dataset and determining where the base of the ballast is.   The work, while interesting is very visual but monotonous.  This work would not suit someone with impaired eyesight.  Being at ease and focused whilst working at a computer for 8 hours a day is important.

Zetica will provide comprehensive training.   An interest in science, computers , geography, geology and physics would be advantageous for the position.   We are looking for candidates who take personal pride in finishing a job to a high standard and in a timely fashion.  A person who has natural focus and diligence would take this work on with ease.

As a key member of the Zetica Rail project team the VDP role requires you to work both as an individual but also realising the importance of the overall project status and delivery deadlines. Being able to demonstrate previous experience of working to deadlines would be beneficial.

Employment in this role is often on a temporary basis so might best suit a local person.

Salary - £75/day, inclusive of holiday pay.

Interested in Military History?

We are looking to recruit researchers with an interest in history (particularly military history) to form part of our growing Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) department. 

The successful candidate will be involved in undertaking the historical research that underpins our risk assessment reports, which are used by a wide variety of developers to ensure that their site works can go ahead safely.

As such, you will be required to display a tenacity in the commercial context of tight deadlines, ensuring that no information of any significance is overlooked and be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner when drafting reports.  The role is heavily dependent on archival research and therefore experience in this field is essential, although further relevant training will be provided.

This role would suit a local resident with the capability and desire to fulfil project deadlines to the highest standard possible, in the process maintaining Zetica’s reputation as the UK leaders of the UXO industry.  The role is available immediately.

Salary is £20,000 to £25,000 pa depending on experience. Benefits include a health cash scheme and pension.

Junior C# C++ Programmer

Zetica invites speculative applications for an entry level programmer with Visual Studio C#, C++ experience and Matlab skills and a desire to gain exposure to new technologies. Programmers must hold relevant software design, programming or computer science certifications and have an interest in image processing.

Applicants will be capable of consistently producing high quality work, and should be able to work on their own initiative with individual focus as well as contributing to a dynamic team environment.

Speculative Applications Welcome - Experienced Geophysicist, Geophysical Site Technicians, Site Surveyors

We welcome speculative applications to join us at all levels within our company.  We welcome persons from a range of backgrounds and a variety of experience, whether predominantly field, office or academia based.  Depending on experience and role, typically you will be expected to undertake site surveys from start to finish with appropriate levels of training provided.  You will be dealing with customers on a regular basis, liaising with office staff, and on occasion dealing with the public.  A professional approach to work ethic and communication is therefore extremely important.
