Scan of school playground

A Landsweep™ geophysical survey was conducted at this brownfield site in Manchester. The site was used as playing fields, but plans to develop the site were well in hand.

The aim of the survey was to complement a desktop study by mapping subsurface obstructions associated with former works in-situ, which could cause delays when construction started.

The Landsweep™ survey comprised a magnetic and electromagnetic scan of the site. This integrated approach facilitated delineation of utility services, reinforced concrete pads forming the base of the former works and shallow foundations associated with nearby smaller buildings.

The interpretation allowed the programming of construction works to either remove the obstructions identified, or to work around them.
